Course planning – beginning 2012

We are happy to finally publish the course planning for the first term of the year.

In addition to the Masterclass experience (both in Italian and English for the people coming from abroad), we are starting with some one-week courses on the Architectural Visualisation meant for people who are already working with 3dsMax / V-Ray and want to get to the top level in the shortest time possible. Advanced course in Architectural Visualisation

The course is meant for people who have a good knowledge on 3dsMax and V-Ray and want to achieve the top levels. The artists at State of Art Academy, who are specialised in the rendering software V-Ray® by Chaos Group®, will guide you in a stro0ng course to improve all the main topics on the software. The main goal of the course is to give you the know-how to create photorealistic images with higher quality levels, both of interiors and exteriors.

The course is divided in three parts: lighting (2 days). materials (2 days) and rendering (1 days).

In the lighting hours, you’ll analyse the process to light both interiors and exteriors. In this way, you’ll have all the information to become independent.

In the material classes, you’ll see the shading workflow used by State of Art Studio. This method can be universally applied to all materials and will give you the possibility to correctly create whatever shader. Every class will be devided into theorical and practical lessons in order to test what you have learnt.

Advanced course in postproduction

The course is meant for people in the Architectural Visualisation field (from any level) and is organised so to teach you the postproduction techniques (Photoshop) to improve the quality of your images.

The postproduction has become an essential tool for all the artists who want to create astonishing works, beyond the basic 3D. You will be followed by the SOA Studio artists and will have the chance to work with the internal tool in Photoshop to fix and change images obtained from frame buffer of any 3D software.

How is the course organised?

The course has two kind of lessons strictly connected: the tecnical ones and the artistic ones.

The tecnical lessons will help you learning Adobe Photoshop CS5 and understanding how to use Render passes created by your rendering engine in the best way possible. We’ll also teach you some tricks to quickly correct the rendering errors without having to recalculate the frame, to add extra complements such as objects, people, trees and to mix them.

The artistic classes will be the practical equivalent to the theorical ones, where the student will use their knowledge to prostproduce some renderings to get some final images. Here you can find the schedule of the course and the application form!

Architectural Visualisation Masterclass

The Masterclass is the most complete course at Academy. In 4 weeks you’ll look in detail to all steps to render an image, from modelling to shading, form lighting to postproduction. The strong point of the Academy Masterclass is the detail care, learning the best methods and discover all tricks. The Masterclass isn’t only about technique but also art, photography and workflow.

How is the Masterclass organised?

The Masterclass is made of theorical classes and practical workshop; you’ll do common exercises on the single topics and in the meantime you’ll work on the main project of the course. In this way, after the 4 weeks every students will have something useful for their cv.

The images created will be discussed with the architect who has provided the project so they’ll give their real feedback on the work.
